Eyeglasses made of pantographed cellulose acetate, a material that's solid to the touch yet visually refined. HARDENING TREATMENT The hardening treatment, indicated by the acronym H, is applied to the surface of organic lenses in order to improve their resistance to abrasion and preserve their properties for longer over time. ANTI-REFLECTIVE TREATMENT The hard coating is usually combined with an anti-reflective coating (HMC). This coating is applied to a lens to reduce the disturbing images that form due to reflection from its surfaces. It serves to achieve better image definition and attenuate reflected images. This coating is always recommended, especially for night driving to avoid the glare of lights, street lamps, and illuminated signs, for wearers of lenses with high prismatic powers, or for computer terminal operators.
